Uncle Afshin. “My uncle Afshin lives with Down syndrome in an assisted-living facility ever since my grandparents passed away, as he requires full-time care. These images were shot over the span of ten years. Afshin was one of my first subjects when I began learning how to use cameras. He enjoyed the process, and I started to see a side of him that I hadn’t witnessed before.”
