“This was an interesting and challenging shoot, my favorite combination. The colors and textures of 26 Chipotle ingredients had to be captured in full detail and focus. A thin sliver of each image would be enlarged to the height of an interior wall in one of Chipotle’s restaurants. The slivers of color and texture would make up a gradient pattern and be displayed as art. I photographed each ingredient with a macro lens, filling the frame with just a section of the ingredient in order to gain the largest file size. There is a significant fall off of focus when shooting so tightly on a subject. In some cases, it took more than 50 shots at various focal lengths to create a single fully focused image.”
